To become a reading ambassador at our school, children have to become ‘word millionaires’. We use the Accelerated Reader programme to allow children to quiz on the books they have read within their ZPD level (zone of proximal development) and from these quizzes, the number of words they have read are accumulated. The Reading Ambassadors will then meet to have discussions about how to improve engagement with books and plan special events to promote reading across the school.
