This Week at Stanway Primary School!
It's been another busy and exciting week of learning across the school. Here are some of the highlights from our younger year groups:
Reception
We welcomed some very special caterpillars and are excited to watch them become butterflies! The children loved The Very Hungry Caterpillar, singing about the life cycle and creating spongepainted caterpillars and symmetrical butterflies . In Maths, we explored numbers beyond 10 using "ten and a bit" with Numicon and cubes .
Year One
Year 1 continued learning about plants . In Science and Art, they observed and sketched flowering plants using magnifying glasses . In English, they planted sunflower seeds and wrote instruction texts . In Maths, they compared mass using scales .
Year Two
Year 2 have been working hard with fractions in Maths . In English, they wrote in role as Jim or the Giant and produced thoughtful letters . In History, they learned about the first cars and discussed safety, while PSHE focused on secrets and surprises .
Well done everyone for a fantastic week!
