School Council
Our School Council comprises of two elected School Councillors per class with the Senior School Council (Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary) from Year 6 being elected after hustings in September and a whole-school election. Apart from the Senior School Council, the School Councillors change each term. We hold weekly meetings and our objectives this year are to promote our Ambition value by providing opportunities for competitions in school, to fulfil our Kindness value by welcoming new pupils to the school and to instill our Respect value into our school community by ensuring that people value the school site through looking after the library and outside areas, keeping them free of litter and looking attractive and well-presented.
Each year the School Council choose a charity to support. They hold three fundraising events throughout the school year, half of which goes to the School Council with the other half going towards the chosen charity. In the past they have held Choosing Days, Talent Shows, a Crazy Hair Day and a Teddy Tombola. This year the events chosen are a Pyjama Day, an Easter Egg Hunt and an Art Day.
In previous years, School Councillors have met and greeted visitors to the school, run assemblies for their peers and interviewed members of staff. They have raised money to buy motivational stickers on the walls and led fundraising for our library.
