School Council

Our School Council meets regularly to discuss the progress of their development plans and new ideas for school improvements. Each class has two council representatives, voted in by class members to represent them. The chairperson, secretary and treasurer receive training to help them in their roles and are responsible for conducting meetings and keeping minutes, agendas and the budget.

This year the school council is working around the theme of 'Be the Best You Can Be'. In December a celebration assembly was arranged, with each class taking part in their own way. Paralympian, Wendy Smith, attended the assembly having already visited the school to talk to the children about goals and aspirations

The School Council has been active for some years and in the past has identified areas of the school that the children feel could benefit from improvements. They have also organised fund raising events to achieve their goals and monitored the developments to ensure that they work well.

The School Council have raised funds in various ways to assist with projects around the school. The most recent event was a sponsored fun run, the proceeds from which funded a new pond in our wildlife area.
