Craft Club
Members of the Card Craft Club have been busy usinig different techniques and materials to make a collection of items. Here you can see a selection of their finished products.
Week 1 - Decorate a Craft Bag for their Makes
The children used various die cut shapes, holographic peel off stickers, pearl drops in different colours and wired ribbon to decorate their bags. They finished them off with a beaded charm.
Week 2 - Paper Roses for Mothers Day
Each child made 3 very impressive roses by themselves after a demonstration, for their mums and were very proud of their efforts as neither had made them before. We used coloured card, a pipe cleaner for the stems and the roses were then tied together with a piece of gold velvet glittered ribbon.
Week 3 - Rose Posy Pouch & Picture Tag
Using patterned paper the children made a pouch for their rose posy. The week before I asked the group to bring a picture of themselves with their mum to go in their picture tag. They glued their picture onto their card tag which matched the posy pouch, adding a message for their mum.
Normally they take all their makes home on the last week but as this project was made specifically for Mothers Day, they took their finished make home.

Hanging Owl Plaques

Week 4 - Hanging Owl Plaques
Using squares of card (taken from a large jaffa cake box) the children covered three pieces of card each with patterned paper, decorated them and attached ribbon to make their hanging plaques. Even though they all had virtually the same materials to work with, I like the way each plaque is different.
Week 5 - String of Tags
The children experimented using embossing folders, paint, peel offs and die cut shapes to decorate their ever growing string of tags.

Week 6 - ATCs (Artist Trading Cards)
Every time I do this with the children the cards turns out different, which makes it an ideal project to repeat. Each child made a set of 3 cards to decorate with a choice of materials. They could cover the cards with patterned paper, stamp on them, stick embellishments on them, use peel off stickers or draw their own ideas. These are made to trade/swap with your friends in the same way you would do with regular trading cards, with the exception that these are mini works of art. They were already swapping cards by the end of the session.
